NLRB files complaint against Nissan ahead of vote at Mississippi plant on whether employees will join UAW.
We get it: Game of Thrones is a cultural juggernaut that people talk about constantly. But since it departed from George R.R. Martin’s books, the writers can’t seem to help choosing winking, meta dialogue for a moment or two each episode that seems destined to go viral on Twitter over plot-based realistic words.
As part of that, many plot lines in Seasons 6 and 7 — however satisfying — are fan service, and the show is growing too self-aware for its own good.
It’s been years since Tyrion Lannister first declared “That’s what I do: I drink and I know things,” and gave Game of Thrones fans the exact words with which to describe his character. It was perfect — but the writers are now apparently chasing that feeling, trying to make fan-favorite moments like that happen too often, and the writing is showing. Read more…

The president put the crew of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps through a ream of vain specifications for filming his cantaloupe gelatin face in a scene that didn’t make the movie, while Scaramucci coughed up $100,000 for 15 seconds of screen time and so his real-life hedge fund — SkyBridge Capital — would appear in the film.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie seems to be getting into it with just about everyone nowadays, and as we know, even baseball games are no longer sacred.
First, he got booed at a Mets game after catching a foul ball. This time, Christie got into it with someone at a Sunday game between the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers, whom his son works for, according to ABC affiliate WISN 12 NEWS.
It all started with a fan, Brad Joseph, calling out to Christie to tell him “he sucked.” This led to the infamous governor getting in Joseph’s face to call him “a big shot.” Read more…
